Overview

Word Labs ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We do not sell your data.

Information We Collect

• Account information — if you create an account, we store your email address and a username you choose. Your email is used solely for account authentication and verification.
• Game statistics — scores, rounds played, streaks, XP, and puzzle completions are stored to power your profile, rank, leaderboards, and XP milestones.
• Preferences — your chosen theme, music settings, sound effects settings, and letter shape preference are saved locally on your device and synced to your account.
• Friend connections — if you add friends using a friend code, we store those connections to enable head-to-head challenges.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect payment or financial information of any kind.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to advertisers.
• We do not collect device identifiers beyond what is standard for iOS crash reporting.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your game account
• To display your scores, rank, and statistics in-app
• To enable friend challenges and leaderboards
• To restore your preferences across devices when you sign in
• To send account verification emails (no marketing emails)

Data Storage

Account data is stored securely on our servers. Preferences and game progress are also stored locally on your device via iOS UserDefaults. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us, which will remove all associated data from our servers.

Third Parties

Word Labs does not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may use standard iOS and Apple services (e.g. iCloud Drive sync) subject to Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

Word Labs is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
